Nabia

Accepted by most as queen of the lusitanian pantheon, Nabia is Lady of the Waters. Her cult would be stronger in the place we today call Braga, but She also has some artifacts in Galicia and along the Tagus river.
The epigraphs to Nabia are more descriptive, including characterizations of the Goddess and other figures, making her one of the most revealed Goddesses of the pantheon. In a modern cult, she is considered the patron deity of Portugal by her devotees, because of the similarities shared with the Christian Saint of the same role. We know by the figures in her artifacts that she would have the moon as a symbol, and be depicted as a veiled woman with a bird near her.
She is also the Goddess most paired with other Deities in her epigraphs, making her role as mother and queen very likely. However, we have her description as "excelent virgin protector and nymph of the Danigos", which gives us virginal and aquatic associations, as well as her name meaning "flow of water". Nabia is most assimilated to Juno for her queen functions, but there are those who find a spring and cthonic dimension in her epithets, bringing her closer to Proserpina. She also has a protector and maybe even warrior facet, which increases the functions of this Godddess. Most likely is that she was a multifaceted Goddess, whose general domain was as Queen, afecting all the world around her, not just water. We can perceive in Nabia a culto of the necessity of water for all aspects of life, hence the many facets. Her epithets also suggest this. We have some more general, like Dea or Corona, simply recognizing her position as Goddess and Queen. Of course, there isn't a lack of mysterious ancient cult places, like Arconunis, coming from Arconunieca, Elaesis from Elaesurraega, or Sesmaca from Castellum Sesmaca. Those more relevant to our practice are those that annoint specific funcions, like Conservatorix, that suggests a guardian, protector, warrior facet; Cornigera, the horned one, an animal facet, maybe associated with magic and the underworld; Virgini, that reveals us a protector of maiden and women; Nimphae, the nymph, that suggests a relationship to fae; and Cantibidone, of the limits, that points to her liminal functions;
She is the only Goddess with a celebration date: April 9th.

In the Iseum of the Liminal Moon, we worship Nabiaas Queen of the Liminal and Moon Goddess.

Blessings of Nabia Nimphae Cantibidone!
